Corsair has officially launched its TC80 gaming chair, retailing at $199.99. This model is positioned as a more affordable option within Corsair’s gaming chair lineup, moving away from the traditional race-bucket design. Instead, it features a wider, flatter seat base designed for comfort and durability, similar to commercial office furniture.
Rigorous Testing
Corsair claims the TC80 has undergone extensive testing against BIFMA X5.1 and EN 1335 standards, including over 30 durability and safety tests. Key test results include:
- Drop Load Test: 136kg (300lbs) dropped onto the center of the seat.
- Backrest Load Test: 1,001N applied to the backrest for one minute.
- Forward Overturning Test: 600N at critical points for overturning.
- Seating Durability Test: 100,000 cycles with 57kg (126lbs) falling onto the seat.
- Tilt Mechanism Test: Tilting with 109kg (240lbs) for 300,000 cycles.
- Armrest Durability Test: 60,000 cycles of 400N applied to each armrest.

Design Features
The TC80 has been designed for comfort with features like:
