New Legal Tech Fund GCVC Launched

A new legal tech fund named GCVC has officially launched, backed by over fifty general counsels from notable private and public companies. Wilson Sonsini has made history by being the first law firm to invest in this fund, which recently emerged from stealth mode, joining other specialized investors like The Legal Tech Fund.

Key Details:

  • Limited Partners (LPs): The fund boasts LPs that include current and former general counsels from companies such as Salesforce, Circle, ElevenLabs, and Rippling. They have already made an investment in Sandstone.

  • Investment Focus: GCVC will target early-stage technology startups, particularly those at the Seed and Series A stages. The fund will also invest in compliance and regtech companies.

  • General Partners (GPs): The fund is led by Erick Rabin, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Bilt, and Matthew Holbreich, a former venture capital attorney at Fenwick & West.

Erick Rabin shared, “We have also invested in Stilta, an agentic AI platform for patents, and have several other deals in the pipeline.”

Industry Impact

Nick Fleisher, CEO and Co-Founder of Sandstone, noted, “GCVC has been an incredibly supportive investor, and the perspective that the LP base brings is invaluable.”
