A vital technological strategy for Europe

European Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen visited ITER on September 7, emphasizing the strategic importance of fusion energy for Europe’s energy independence and industrial leadership. He stated that “fusion is a key strategic technology for Europe,” and highlighted the European Commission’s efforts to develop a fusion strategy aimed at leading the world in commercializing fusion energy technologies. During his visit, Jørgensen, accompanied by key ITER officials, participated in meetings and toured various facilities, including the Assembly Hall and tokamak pit.
