Two vibrant cultural festivals will be held during the Sukkot holiday from September 29 to October 1, presenting a mix of literature, dance, and community activities.
Ushpizin Poetry Festival
- Location: Jerusalem’s Confederation House
- Theme: “Poets Are Called Alive in Death”
- Directors: Effie Benaya and Binyamin Shvili
- Highlights:
- Use of the traditional sukkah as a metaphor for an inner artistic sanctuary.
- Features readings, panels, and musical tributes.
- Celebrates late Israeli literary icons like Hedva Harechavi, alongside global poets such as Dante and Matsuo Basho.
- Conclusion includes a musical tribute with Natan Zach’s poetry paired with compositions by Matti Caspi.
Vertigo Ecological Art Village
- Artistic Director: Sigal Roth
- Main Attractions:
- Exclusive pre-premiere performance by the Vertigo Dance Company, choreographed by Noa Wertheim and Rina Wertheim Koren.
- Performances from the Force of Balance Ensemble, Orly Portal, and Kibbutz 2 dancers.

- Free programming from 4:00 p.m. daily, including eco-tours, a second-hand market, and sunset movement sessions.
