Altering Global History Threatens China’s Reputation and ‘Cultural Security’: Party Publication

The text discusses a growing trend to present history from a perspective less centered on the Western narrative, particularly in the context of Chinese civilization. While there is an effort in China to emphasize its long and continuous historical heritage, there is also the emergence of a “pseudo-historical school.” This school promotes ideas that question the origins of Western culture and assert that pivotal scientific advancements were rooted in China.

The article highlights concerns that such extreme claims, proliferating particularly online, could undermine China’s academic credibility and cultural reputation on the global stage.
