Local Pet Food Drive a Success for STARS Rescue
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Deb’s Downhome Delights partnered with Save Them All Rescue Services (STARS Rescue) for a successful pet food and supply drive on Saturday at the Black Hills Farmers Market.
STARS requested new, unopened donations, including specific brands like Pedigree beef-flavor dog food, Iams salmon cat or kitten food, puppy food, rabbit pro food, timothy grass or hay, along with pet toys, treats, and paper towels.
Michelle Brock, founder of STARS No Kill Rescue, remarked on the day’s success, stating that nearly every animal brought to the market found a new home. “We had such a great day—we had a puppy adopted, two rabbits adopted, and two more going into foster care, with just two bunnies left here waiting for a home,” she shared.
Brock emphasized that every donation, regardless of size, plays a crucial role in supporting animals in need of homes.
