Moscow, September 06 (QNA) – The Ministry of Culture officially wrapped up its participation in the Moscow International Book Fair, furthering its mission to showcase Qatar’s cultural richness on a global scale. This initiative aimed to introduce Qatari intellectual works to a diverse audience, emphasizing Qatar’s role as a center for creativity and cultural diversity.

Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain, Director of the Doha International Book Fair, noted that the ministry’s pavilion was a major draw, attracting numerous visitors who were particularly interested in the cultural and interactive exhibits. Highlights included interactive screens displaying various facets of Qatari culture and a calligraphy station where attendees could observe the intricacies of Arabic calligraphy and have their names written in the script.

Additionally, Al Buainain mentioned that this participation opened significant avenues for Qatari publishing houses. They were able to forge new partnerships with Russian publishers, especially concerning the translation of literature between Arabic and Russian. Business meetings were held to explore collaboration in publishing and intellectual property with various international publishers.

This participation aligns with the Ministry of Culture’s broader efforts to bolster Qatari publishing, enhance its international presence, and tap into new markets for Qatari publications, thereby enriching the nation’s publishing industry and encouraging cultural exchanges worldwide. (QNA)
