Adoption Event in Oswego
If you’re looking to adopt a pet or support an animal rescue group, a great opportunity awaits you on September 13. The event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at The Pets’ Home, located at 3587 Plainfield Road, Oswego. Last year, the event successfully raised nearly $1,000 for participating groups.
Event Highlights
- Goal for This Year: John Gay, co-owner of The Pets’ Home, aims to exceed last year’s fundraising total.
- Facility Overview: The Pets’ Home is a dog daycare and boarding facility designed to resemble a cozy three-bedroom house, ensuring dogs rest in beds rather than cages.
- Theme: This year’s theme is a luau, a change from last year’s “Star Wars” themed event.
Activities
- Raffle and Auction: Local businesses are contributing items for raffle baskets and a silent auction, including a 50-inch flat screen TV.
- DJ Music: The event will feature music provided by a DJ who volunteers for rescue events.
- Hawaiian Dress Code: Attendees are encouraged to come in Hawaiian outfits, with the first 150 guests receiving a free Hawaiian lei.
- Open House: The facility will also hold tours, allowing visitors to learn about their services.
Getting Involved
Local businesses, crafters, and vendors can still participate by donating items or services for the auction and raffle. Proceeds will support the participating rescues and their vital work.
