History, Art, and Craft Take Over Canakkale on Festival Seventh Day
As part of the Canakkale Cultural Route Festival, organized by Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the seventh day was filled with events celebrating history, art, and culture.
Highlights of the Day:

Concert by Sefo: Held at the Anadolu Hamidiye Fortress Open-Air Stage, this performance was a significant attraction of the festival.

Workshops:
- Ceramic Decorations and Postcard Design: Participants engaged in traditional ceramic art during this hands-on workshop.
- Wooden Spoon Making: This workshop introduced attendees to the art of crafting wooden spoons, highlighting its importance in Turkish culinary culture.

Personal Development Talk:
- “Wise Person”: Local author Mustafa Gur presented themes of personal growth and self-awareness, emphasizing insights from his book.

Film Screening:
- “Fallen From Olympus”: This short film, screened at the Troy Museum, explores a warrior’s conversation with Thanatos about the futility of war, providing a unique perspective on the Trojan War narrative.
Children’s Activities:
A Guided Museum Tour offered children a close look at the Troy Museum‘s artifacts. Following the tour, creative matching and coloring activities allowed kids to engage with history in a fun and interactive manner.
Exhibition:
The “Living Heritage: Canakkale Exhibition”, open throughout the festival at the Anadolu Hamidiye Fort Hangar, showcased Canakkale’s rich historical and cultural heritage through traditional arts and crafts, including tile-making, ceramics, marbling, and calligraphy.
This vibrant festival continues to engage and educate attendees of all ages, encouraging a deeper appreciation for local culture and history.
