Weekly Streaming Ratings Report
By the Entertainment Strategy Guy
Welcome to the latest insights on what’s trending in streaming TV. This week, Spider-Man: Brand New Day launched theatrically, emerging as one of the biggest films of all time.
Poll Time!
Following on the heels of Project Hail Mary’s success on Prime Video, the question arises: Can Spider-Man 4 surpass these streaming records? Sony films typically arrive on Netflix 120 days after their theater debut, placing Spidey 4‘s streaming premiere around November 28, a significant weekend for viewership. That said, delays for additional revenue on PVOD could push this back.
Kids’ Films and Streaming Workhorses
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, recently launched on Peacock, is saving the day in children’s entertainment by amassing strong viewership. It garnered a solid 13 million hours in its first week, placing it second among Peacock films.
Kids Film Performance Since November 2025:
- Zootopia 2 – Outstanding streaming performance establishing itself as a top contender.
- GOAT – Surprising success on streaming despite a modest box office return.
- Encanto & KPop Demon Hunters – Notable longevity, keeping them relevant weeks after release.
Misses of the Week
Two films competed for our “Miss of the Week”: A24’s The Drama on HBO Max and The Devil’s Mouth on Prime Video. The Drama managed to make $48 million domestically, while The Devil’s Mouth delivered disappointing metrics, including a bleak 4.7 IMDb score. The lack of box office success for The Devil’s Mouth earns it the dishonor this week.
Conclusion
This report dives deep into statistics, viewership trends, and forthcoming titles as streaming continues to evolve. Here’s what to watch for next week: Ted Lasso returns, along with new offerings from Hulu and Prime Video, alongside notable sports broadcasts.
