PAX Unplugged Houston Announced for June 2027
ReedPop and Penny Arcade have officially announced the first-ever PAX Unplugged Houston, set to take place from June 25 to June 27, 2027, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.
The inaugural PAX Unplugged event focused on tabletop gaming was held in Pennsylvania in 2017. Sean Gonzalez, PAX event manager, noted the increasing popularity of tabletop gaming within the PAX community, emphasizing that “the tabletop industry continues to grow.”
In deciding to expand the Unplugged events, the organizers evaluated key cities, prioritizing demand from exhibitors and infrastructural capabilities. Houston was ultimately chosen as the best location to launch this event, giving fans from the South a chance to engage with the PAX experience after the cancellation of PAX South in 2021.
The event will feature:
- An expo floor for tabletop gaming exhibitors
- Panels and tournaments
- Community meetups among other activities
Gonzalez reaffirmed that the focus remains on enhancing experiences for current PAX attendees and exhibitors before considering further expansions. He also mentioned ongoing improvements to existing PAX events, including new stages and programming.
Tickets for PAX Unplugged Houston, as well as applications for media and content creators, will be available later this year.
