Roseville Launches Downtown Development Impact Fee Credit Program
The City of Roseville is excited to announce the Downtown Development Impact Fee Credit Program, designed to stimulate investment and redevelopment in Downtown Roseville. This initiative will help offset city-controlled impact fees for eligible projects, facilitating investment from developers and businesses.
Key Features of the Program:
- Up to $50,000 in Fee Credits: Available for qualifying projects that align with the Downtown Specific Plan and contribute to economic vitality or significant reinvestment.
Eligible Projects Include:
- Residential, destination, or pedestrian-oriented commercial developments on vacant or underutilized properties.
- Projects focused on job creation, sales tax generation, or revitalizing existing structures.
- Mixed-use and multi-family housing developments, with an emphasis on affordable housing.
“This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to making Roseville’s downtown a thriving center of community and commerce,” stated Gina McColl, Economic Development Analyst. The city looks forward to collaborating with developers, property owners, and businesses to fulfill the vision outlined in the Downtown Specific Plan.
Since 2009, the City has invested approximately $164 million in Downtown Roseville. This new incentive program builds on past investments and provides opportunities to sustain progress following recent private sector developments, including the adaptive reuse of the former post office and various mixed-use projects along Vernon Street.
Timeline and Next Steps:
- Application Opening: October
- Applications for fee credits can be submitted after the approval of planning entitlements and building permit acceptance. Applications will be reviewed alongside permit submissions, with approved credits automatically applied to building permit invoices.
