The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) anticipates screening over 17 million people at U.S. airports from Thursday to the following Wednesday. Friday is expected to be the busiest day, with nearly 2.8 million people passing through security.

According to AAA and INRIX, the heaviest road congestion will occur on Thursday and Friday. Here are the worst travel windows:
- Thursday, Sept. 3: 2 p.m.–7 p.m.
- Friday, Sept. 4: Noon–8 p.m.
- Saturday, Sept. 5: 1 p.m.–5 p.m.
- Monday, Sept. 7: 2 p.m.–5 p.m.

Gas Prices Skyrocket
This Labor Day marks one of the most expensive on record. The national average for regular unleaded gas is $4.14 per gallon, with Texas averaging $3.69. GasBuddy projects an average of $4.03 per gallon over the weekend.
Local travelers have expressed concern about rising costs, but they are still willing to pay. Luis Rios noted that filling up has increased from $50 to $78 but it’s a necessary expense.
