The deteriorating situation is especially critical around the Strait of Hormuz—a vital shipping route for global oil trade—where threats from Iran have raised concerns about further disruptions to oil supplies, contributing to rising crude prices.
Katz’s warnings are further complicated by threats from Hezbollah in Lebanon and the regional implications of any escalation, as Israel prepares to respond forcefully to any attacks on its territory.
