Microsoft Has Discovered Another Method to Deteriorate Xbox Game Pass

The recent changes to Xbox Cloud Gaming by Microsoft indicate a significant shift in their service approach. Starting in November, users will face monthly limits based on their subscription tier:

  • Game Pass Ultimate: 15 hours
  • Game Pass Premium: 10 hours
  • Game Pass Essential: 5 hours

While players can purchase additional hours beyond these limits, Microsoft has stated that these changes are necessary due to the rising costs associated with providing cloud gaming services. They estimate that only about 4% of users will be affected by the new restrictions.

This decision comes alongside broader strategic shifts within Microsoft, focusing on profitability and navigating pressures to support their AI ventures. The introduction of limits also coincides with the launch of major titles like Grand Theft Auto VI, which could attract new users to the platform.

In essence, these changes reflect a blend of cost management and the company’s adaptation to evolving gaming dynamics.
