“A Cherry Pie Christmas” has sparked a festive tradition and boosted tourism efforts in Wisconsin. Following its release, Wisconsin officials launched a film office and provided grants for future projects. The film led to recognition for Travel Wisconsin and Destination Door County, notably as Destination Door County was a finalist for the U.S. Travel Association’s Bridging Communities Award due to its successful Christmas Movie Trail, which attracted over 3,000 participants and generated $36,000 in sales between November and early January.
In addition, Travel Wisconsin received the Innovation Award for enhancing winter tourism and increasing lodging revenues in Door County. Jon Jarosh, President and CEO of Destination Door County, expressed pride in their impactful initiatives.
This winter, the Door County Christmas Movie Trail returns with fresh elements, alongside “A Cherry Pie Christmas,” which will be available on streaming platforms, potentially on DVD, and showcased live at the Southern Door Auditorium on December 12.
