Fashion Week Spokane: A Unique Celebration of Artistry and Community
Fashion designers and models traditionally showcase their art in major fashion capitals like New York and Paris. However, for those who may view fashion week as merely a display of affluence, the founders of Fashion Week Spokane aim to reshape that perception.
In 2025, designer Sophia Calhoun and model Mackenzie Priest-Nill established Fashion Week Spokane, emphasizing collaboration and diversity within the fashion community. “Fashion is more than clothing; it’s an expression of personal identity and art,” Priest-Nill states.
The third edition of Fashion Week Spokane will take place on September 10, featuring two unique runways with nine participating designers and over 50 local models, supplemented by art, food vendors, and performances from Coil Studio dancers.
Unconventional for a fashion show, Fashion Week Spokane encourages audience interactions, creating an exciting and lively atmosphere. Calhoun and Priest-Nill, who met through their shared interests in fashion, have built a vibrant community around their events, showcasing local talent and fostering creativity.
Their previous shows focused on distinct themes, but the upcoming event will merge different styles, spotlighting streetwear, bridal, and formal wear. “There’s room for all expressions of fashion at Fashion Week Spokane,” Calhoun emphasizes.
