Ebell Season to Showcase Patti Smith, Colin Kaepernick, and Los Angeles Cultural Initiatives – Daily News

The Ebell of Los Angeles is gearing up for an exciting 2026-27 season, featuring prominent programs like a discussion on women and artificial intelligence led by Jennifer García, founder of Ingrained.ai, on September 14. That evening, renowned musician Patti Smith will perform songs and share stories from her memoir, “Bread of Angels,” accompanied by Jackson Smith and Tony Shanahan.

Ebell CEO Stacy Brightman emphasizes the organization’s legacy of women making bold choices, stating, “That same spirit is at the heart of this season.”

The season will also host six free “LA VOICES” programs, showcasing diverse music, dance, and storytelling from Los Angeles communities. This series kicks off on October 25, followed by various performances and events throughout the year, including a musical premiere about pioneering women in space exploration and celebrations for Women’s History Month in March.

Other highlights include the “Distinguished Voices” speaker series, “Live in the Lounge” performances starting with Michelle Azar on September 30, and an appearance by activist Colin Kaepernick on September 22. The Ebell, founded in 1894, is located in Hancock Park and features the historic Wilshire Ebell Theatre, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
