Entrepreneur Sees Value in Pet Hotel Industry

Saq Nadeem’s journey in the pet industry began with a childhood love for animals in Pakistan. His passion led to a unique business proposal during his time at the Kellogg School of Management, which he later developed into reality.
Nadeem, who reflects fondly on his childhood attempts to adopt street dogs, faced challenges as a pet owner yourself. While consulting before graduate school, he noted the inadequacies of pet boarding services. This inspired him to create a business that prioritized customer convenience, allowing for flexible drop-off and pick-up times for pets.
After receiving seed funding from his professors, Nadeem established his first luxury pet hotel, “Paws in Paradise,” near O’Hare Airport in May 2008. His vision was to cater to “pet parents,” who he believes will invest in their pets’ comfort and happiness, even in economic downturns.
To gain industry insight, Nadeem worked in doggie daycares, gaining firsthand experience of the business’s demands. His hard work and passion paid off, leading to rapid expansion. Within three years, he had opened 20 locations, including franchises in Dallas and Denver.
In 2022, seeking new opportunities and a family move to Seattle, Nadeem sold his franchise but soon identified another potential venture. He acquired a family-owned dog boarding business near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, appropriately named Noble Pet Resort.
