CO2-Sync, a biochar company based in Heber City, and Carbo-FORCE celebrated the opening of their CF-1000 commercial pyrolysis facility in Price, Utah. The facility will convert low-value woody biomass into premium biochar and renewable energy while addressing wildfire risks by utilizing hazardous forest materials.
CEO Darrell Huntsman and co-founders Kia and Max Alberding discussed the project’s evolution during a ribbon-cutting event attended by local and state officials. The CF-1000 can process over 1,000 kilograms of biomass per hour and features technologies for generating electricity, monitoring carbon removal, and promoting healthier forest ecosystems.
The facility represents a scalable model aimed at providing solutions for forest management challenges in the Western U.S. while also delivering environmental benefits and boosting local energy sources.
