Springfield, Mo. (KY3) – The Springfield City Council recently received an update on the Neighborhood Works+ program, which has been allocated $5 million from the SPRING Forward SGF ½-cent Sales Tax. This funding aims to enhance neighborhood improvements identified through collaboration between city staff and residents.
Recommended projects focus on several key areas, including traffic calming measures, pedestrian safety enhancements, sidewalk and crosswalk connections, drainage improvements, landscaping, and overall neighborhood beautification. Project managers presented the first round of funding recommendations, emphasizing the program’s goal of making communities safer, more connected, and vibrant.
The final recommendations will be submitted to the Spring Forward SGF Citizen Advisory Board this fall, with construction on several approved projects expected to begin soon.
