Cleveland’s University Circle is welcoming Playa Bowls, a smoothie and acai bowl shop, which will open on September 19 at 11446 Euclid Ave. The new location is unique as it is kosher certified by Ohio-K Kosher, supervised by Rabbi A.J. Kushner.
Hannah Lippman, the general manager and a member of the local Jewish community, expressed excitement about introducing a kosher dining option. Initially, there was doubt about whether the location would offer kosher certification, but overwhelming demand on Instagram—around 200 messages—encouraged the decision.
Playa Bowls, founded in 2014 in Belmar, N.J., now boasts over 400 locations across the U.S., including cities in Ohio like Canton and Cincinnati. Their acai bowls serve as full meals, with bases like acai and mango, complemented by various toppings.
