Planet Ventures Unveils Strategic Investment in Starcloud, a Leader in Space-based AI Data Center Technology

Planet Ventures Announces Strategic Investment in Starcloud, a Pioneer in Space-based AI Data Centers

Vancouver, British Columbia – (Newsfile Corp. – August 28, 2026) – Planet Ventures Inc. (CSE: PXI) (OTC Pink: PNXPF) (FSE: P6U) (“Planet” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that it has completed a USD $100,000 indirect investment in Starcloud, Inc. (“Starcloud”), a U.S.-based technology company that has created orbital data centers (ODC) designed to deliver artificial intelligence (AI) computing infrastructure in space. This investment is made through an equity participation in a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) named ST-0504 Fund I.

Starcloud’s mission is to deploy extensive computing infrastructure in orbit, leveraging solar energy and the unique space environment to cater to the growing global demand for AI and high-performance computing. They believe that space-based data centers offer significant advantages, such as access to continuous solar power, efficient radiative cooling, and the capability to scale without the typical terrestrial constraints regarding land, energy, and regulations. As advancements in launch vehicles reduce the cost per kilogram to orbit, Starcloud anticipates a forthcoming break-even point where ODCs will be more economically viable than traditional Earth-based data centers.

Planet’s investment aligns with Starcloud’s recently announced USD $250 million Series A extension financing, which has established a remarkable post-money valuation of USD $2.3 billion. This round was spearheaded by Manhattan West, with notable contributions from industry giants like NVIDIA and Cisco Investments among others. Starcloud’s total capital raised now approaches USD $450 million.

Founded in late 2024 by Philip Johnston, Ezra Feilden, and Adi Oltean, Starcloud has previously showcased technological milestones, including the launch of Starcloud-1 in November 2025, which carried the first NVIDIA H100 GPU into orbit and marked the first instance of training a large language model in space.

Planet Ventures sees Starcloud as a valuable opportunity to engage in the rapidly evolving intersection of AI, advanced computing infrastructure, and the commercial space economy.

Etienne Moshevich, CEO of Planet Ventures, emphasized the significance of this investment: “Planet’s mandate is to seek opportunities that we believe can revolutionize long-term technological evolution. The burgeoning demand for AI computing power is substantial, and Starcloud is innovatively addressing that through space-based infrastructure. The participation of high-caliber investors in Starcloud’s recent financing underscores its promising trajectory.”

Starcloud’s future development plans include enhancing manufacturing and engineering capabilities as well as advancing spacecraft designed to facilitate large-scale orbital computing operations.
