Increasing Numbers of Gen Z and Millennials Turn to Gold Investments During Economic Uncertainty

The Palawan Group of Companies has reported a growing interest in gold investments among younger generations, specifically Millennials and Gen Z, amid global economic uncertainties. CEO Karlo M. Castro noted that the trend indicates a shift towards tangible assets during uncertain times.

The prices of gold have seen significant increases, with 24-karat gold currently priced at around P9,221.64 per gram, reflecting a rise of 0.93%. In response to the increasing interest from young investors, the Palawan Group plans to introduce “tokenized gold,” a digital asset that allows customers to invest with smaller amounts, starting from as little as P500 or P1,000.

The Palawan Group operates over 3,800 branches nationwide and offers various financial services, including pawning, money remittance, and digital wallets.
