KrubKrong receives seed-stage equity funding from EDF.

What’s the Deal?

KrubKrong has raised seed-stage equity investment from EDF under the Startup Investment Package Program (SIPP 1), creating new capital opportunities for promising Cambodian businesses.

How the Selection Worked

SIPP 1 received about 80 applications from startups and SMEs. After multiple screening stages, 12 were shortlisted for interviews. Subsequently, five moved to due diligence, resulting in equity packages for KrubKrong and another startup.

Why Now?

The investment agreement was finalized in Phnom Penh on August 20, 2026, coinciding with the launch of the program’s second cohort. This initiative aims to enhance access to investment capital for Cambodian startups and SMEs as they grow.

The Signal

This program supports Cambodia’s National Strategy on Startup Development 2026–2030. Through its equity investment approach, EDF positions itself as a public catalytic investor, aiming to bridge financing gaps and attract private investment into the startup ecosystem.
