Governor Patrick Morrisey of West Virginia has announced a $1.25 million funding initiative through the State’s Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) to develop the Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). This initiative aims to provide a comprehensive care model that helps older West Virginians with health challenges remain safely in their homes by coordinating medical care and daily support.
The funding will assist local organizations in establishing and managing these care networks, enhancing access to community-based care. Morrisey emphasized the commitment to helping older residents live with dignity and independence in their communities.
The initiative will support the creation and expansion of daytime health and activity centers, which will serve as the foundation for a coordinated care system. These centers will offer a welcoming environment where seniors can receive clinical care, manage medications, coordinate doctor visits, and engage in social activities.
