Kristen, 44, and Dan Koepke, 57, are embracing a new lifestyle as retirees living full-time in an RV. This journey echoes Kristen’s long-held bucket list dream to visit the state capitals and iconic places across the U.S. After running a winery for a decade, the couple seized the opportunity to transition to RV life when they sold their business in 2023.
With over a month of RV living under their belts, they are relishing the adventures of sightseeing, hiking, and exploring historical sites. Despite initial challenges, such as adjusting to life in smaller spaces and the logistics of travel, they’re enthusiastic about their new lifestyle.
The couple chose a 29-foot Class C toy hauler RV, which features a garage for storing motorcycles. They streamlined their possessions significantly, allowing them to embrace a more minimalist lifestyle. Improvements to their RV, including solar panels and a better mattress, are enhancing their experience on the road.
As they travel, they’re mindful of costs like gas and groceries, adjusting their plans and activities accordingly. Excursions and adventures await them as they aim to visit all state capitals, having already ticked off Pierre, South Dakota. Despite missing their friends, they enjoy the freedom of travel and the companionship of their dog, Vinny, making the most of their exploration into this new chapter of life.
