This August, families can take advantage of an initiative offering free bus travel for children aged 5–15, aimed at helping alleviate the cost of living. This program enables under-16s to explore a variety of scenic destinations—from castles and country parks to beautiful coastlines—at no cost for their bus fares.
In addition to this, a £3 cap on bus fares is in effect, ensuring families save money on transportation while enjoying outings. Local Transport Minister Simon Lightwood emphasizes the importance of making summer activities accessible to all, allowing families to create memorable experiences without financial strain.
