Silver Is Recovering. Is It Time to Invest?

On July 31, I mentioned that silver, currently trading far below its January peak, presents a great investment opportunity. This year, silver prices surged from around $30 an ounce to a record $115 due to increased demand from AI data centers, which rely on silver for its conductivity and stability. However, as often happens in the market, enthusiasm led to a price correction, with silver recently falling to about $56.

After dipping, silver has started to recover, climbing to over $64 an ounce, marking an 8% rise in just over a week. Analysts expect continued growth in silver prices due to the projected $7 trillion investment in data centers by 2030, with major companies like Meta, Amazon, Alphabet, and Microsoft advancing their spending plans.

Enthusiasm for silver producers like First Majestic Silver, Wheaton Precious Metals, and Pan American Silver has also increased. Wheaton Precious Metals recently reported stellar second-quarter earnings, significantly boosted by gold prices, which also rose in August.

For those looking to invest directly in silver, the iShares Silver Trust ETF, which holds physical silver stored in vaults, has also shown a 7% increase over the past month.
