Southeast Missouri Economic Development Collaboration
CAPE GIRARDEAU & PERRY COUNTIES, Mo. (Heartland News) – Economic development officials in Southeast Missouri have established a partnership aimed at enhancing business recruitment and marketing efforts in the region. The agreement involves the Southeast Missouri Regional Economic Development, Inc. (SEMO REDI) and the Perry County Economic Development Authority (Perry County EDA).
Under this collaboration, SEMO REDI will focus on promoting properties in Perry County at national site selection conferences and trade shows, integrating the county into its outreach to corporate decision-makers.
Shad Burner, CEO of SEMO REDI, emphasized the importance of this trust-based partnership, noting their commitment to achieving shared regional outcomes. Crystal Jones, Executive Director of the Perry County EDA, echoed this sentiment, highlighting that economic development transcends county boundaries. She stated that cooperation among regional organizations can lead to collective benefits.
The partnership officially commenced on August 1 and will continue until July 31, 2027.
