Six Flags Great America Launches Major Investment for Camp Timber Trail
Six Flags Great America has revealed its largest investment in decades, introducing a brand new roller coaster and themed area—Camp Timber Trail—set to open in 2027. This announcement aligns with the park’s 50th anniversary and marks a pivotal moment in its future. Park President John Krajnak emphasized the significance of this investment, describing it as substantial and broader in scope than previous initiatives.
Camp Timber Trail Highlights
The new area will feature:
- Sky Hawk: A suspended family coaster touted as the Midwest’s longest, tallest, and fastest of its type, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding woodland.
- Trail Trotters: An animal trek designed for exploration and discovery.
- Forest Grove Play Park: An outdoor play destination with nature-inspired elements.
Existing rides in the Yukon Territory will be reimagined, with classic attractions getting new themes, such as:
- Chirp Chaser (formerly Sprocket Rockets)
- Wilderness Wagon (formerly Crazy Bus)
- Creek Cruiser (formerly Yahoo River)
- Bee Boppin’ (the new iteration of Buzzy Beez)
Additionally, the area will incorporate themed dining, specialty treats, and immersive storytelling to enhance the guest experience.
Future Developments
This investment follows a merger with Cedar Fair Entertainment Co., revitalizing the Six Flags brand. Krajnak hinted this project might be the first step in a broader transformation, enhancing landscapes, guest amenities, and overall park aesthetics over the next three to five years.
Camp Timber Trail is framed as the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Six Flags Great America, promising to create memorable experiences for guests for years to come.
