Fortified Solar Expands Operations in Greenville County, S.C.
GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Office of the Governor of South Carolina has announced a significant expansion by Fortified Solar in Greenville County.
Investment & Job Creation
Fortified Solar, a U.S. manufacturer specializing in custom steel roofing systems with integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) technology, is making a substantial investment of $22.75 million, which is expected to create over 151 new jobs.
Company Background
Founded in 2020 by Justin Draplin, a native of Travelers Rest, Fortified Solar currently operates a manufacturing facility in Taylors. The new operation will be based at 10 A. D. Asbury Road in Greenville and aims to enhance the company’s manufacturing, production, and operational capabilities as it continues to grow.
Future Plans
Both the existing and new facilities are operational, with new manufacturing lines anticipated to reach full production by October 2026.
Economic Support
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project and awarded a $150,000 Set-Aside grant to Greenville County to assist with building improvements.
