Invest 91L: No Threat to North Central Florida
MARION COUNTY, FL – Current weather activity in the Gulf, particularly the “no name” storm designated as Invest 91L, is not expected to impact North Central Florida.
According to reports from The Tampa Bay Times on July 15, 2026, and updated the next day, this area of disturbed weather has a low chance of evolving into a tropical storm.
Meteorologist Paul Dellegatto from Tampa Bay’s Fox 13 News shared that new models indicate Invest 91L may gain strength from the warm waters of the Gulf as it approaches the Panhandle. However, the primary outcome for much of the Gulf Coast will likely be “enhanced rainfall.”

Forecasts suggest that, regardless of its intensity, the storm is expected to veer westward around landfall.
