Matt Damon’s stringent diet plan ‘The Odyssey’ exposes underlying health concerns.

Matt Damon made headlines recently for his significant transformation for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, The Odyssey. On Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast, he revealed that he has permanently eliminated gluten from his diet, which he described as “life-altering.” This change coincided with his intense physical preparation for the role of Odysseus, where he achieved his lightest weight in decades, dropping to 167 pounds.

Damon explained that this journey was not just about workouts but a complete lifestyle overhaul. He emphasized the impact of gluten on his well-being, noting the dramatic improvements he experienced after cutting it out. Although he misses enjoying bread, beer, and pasta, he acknowledges the benefits of this dietary change.

Throughout the process, Damon worked closely with a personal trainer, stressing the importance of having specific goals. This transformation is one of many in his career, with a notable previous instance being his significant weight loss for the 1996 film Courage Under Fire.

Nolan envisioned a lean but strong character, and Damon successfully met these expectations through rigorous training and dietary discipline. His experience sheds light on the challenges and sacrifices actors often make for their roles.
