Fruitive Introduces Dairy-Free, Gluten-Free Real Fruit Ice Cream in Downtown Washington, D.C.

Fruitive, a family-owned restaurant known for its 100% plant-based and organic menu, is launching a new made-to-order ice cream experience on July 4 at its location in Washington, DC. Inspired by New Zealand-style fruit-blended ice cream, Fruitive’s offering combines real fruit with a house-made vegan base of cashew cream and coconut milk, making it dairy-free and gluten-free.

Using a specialized Little Jem machine imported from New Zealand, the ice cream is blended fresh for each guest, resulting in a smooth, fruit-infused soft-serve dessert. Options include vanilla (made with gluten-free oats and Madagascar vanilla) and chocolate (with cashews, coconut, and cacao), which can be paired with fruits like strawberries, bananas, and raspberries, along with toppings such as freeze-dried fruit, nuts, chocolate sauce, and peanut butter drizzle.

In-house recipes and daily fresh preparations reflect Fruitive’s commitment to wholesome food, as emphasized by founder Gregg Rozeboom. The ice cream is exclusively available at their 701 Pennsylvania Ave. NW location in Washington, DC, with a nut-free version set to be introduced in the coming months.
