Multiple dust storm warnings have been issued in central Illinois, leading to “dangerous, life-threatening travel” conditions on multiple interstates. According to the National Weather Service, the warnings will remain in effect through Monday evening, with near-zero visibility reported on Interstates 72, 74, and 57.
The warnings primarily affect the area between Bloomington and Champaign and encompass parts of Piatt, DeWitt, McLean, Champaign, and Macon counties until 5:15 p.m.
Additionally, a blowing dust advisory is in place for counties south of Interstate 80 near Chicago, including LaSalle, Kendall, Grundy, Kankakee, and parts of southern Will County.
