-
Unique Features: This updated 39,000-square-foot store is equipped with a “store-within-a-store” for natural beauty products that are hypoallergenic and certified cruelty-free and Rainforest Alliance-approved.
-
Future Plans: Raley’s intends to roll out more O-N-E Markets in the coming years as part of its strategy to establish itself as a health-oriented food retailer.
Dive Insight:
The new O-N-E Market is a strategic move by Raley’s to emphasize health and wellness. It boasts a carefully selected range of fresh, nutritious, and sustainably sourced items, including a variety of organic products. The store excludes ingredients like high fructose corn syrup and artificial preservatives, along with featuring a café, organic juice bar, and sustainable prepared foods.
Similar to the opening of its first O-N-E Market in Truckee, California, the El Dorado Hills location will host educational programs led by a registered dietitian, linking these services with their loyalty program, Something Extra.
Raley’s is on track to convert a store in Reno, Nevada, set to reopen on May 1, and is also constructing a new O-N-E Market in Roseville, aiming for a spring opening next year. President and CEO Keith Knopf emphasized that future transformations will consider customer preferences and aim for transparency in healthy product offerings.
This initiative is part of Raley’s broader vision to enhance its health-conscious image, including removing sugar-sweetened sodas from its private label products and launching a food innovation lab to test new healthy products.
