The 19th International Scientific Conference on Probiotics, Prebiotics, Gut Microbiota and Health (IPC) is being organized by NutraIngredients for the first time, featuring over 60 presentations and panel discussions over three days.
The conference’s agenda, crafted by an international committee of over 20 experts, includes diverse topics such as spaceflight, healthspan, early-life development, smart technology, personalized interventions, and regulations.
Dr. Stephen Daniells, Editor-in-Chief of NutraIngredients, emphasized the conference’s significance as the microbiome field evolves with technological advancements. Exciting innovations in extracellular vesicles, longevity-focused healthcare, and AI’s role in research and production will be highlighted.
Key speakers on day one include:

- Christian Roghi (Microbiome Futures) discussing probiotics in spaceflight.
- Gwénaël Jan (INRAE) unveiling a probiotic bacterium’s role in preventing food allergies.
Day two will focus on microbes and immune modulation, featuring Martin Haranta on personalized gut microflora management and discussions on gut-organ axes and legislation.
Additionally, the Microbiome Explorer Challenge finalists will present their innovations, competing for €25,000 in expert consultations and a €5,000 cash prize.
On the final day, speakers will explore technological advancements and the impact of microbiome research beyond gut health, including presentations on skin microbiome therapies.
