Fresno State Students Educate Community on Smart Shopping for Health – The Collegian

The Food Science and Nutrition Department is offering free grocery shopping tours, called Bulldogs in the Grocery Store (BIGS), for the Fresno community. These tours emphasize the benefits of fruits and vegetables and will conclude on December 9 at the Save Mart Center.

Participants will receive cooking tips and nutritional information about various fresh and processed produce. A $5 cookbook, created by students, will also be available for purchase toward the end of the tours.

Each tour accommodates up to eight attendees, led by nutrition and dietetic students. Sessions last for one hour and will also be conducted in Spanish.

Students interested in joining can sign up through the provided link and choose their preferred time slot. They will meet their guide, identifiable by a blue apron, at the grocery store entrance.

Follow the BIGS Instagram account @fresnostate.bigs for updates, or contact Kelsie Wasem via email for questions.
