Health Canada has issued a public advisory following the seizure of unauthorized health products from two nutrition and supplement stores in Maple Ridge, B.C. The advisory lists numerous items, including injectable peptides, anabolic steroids, and testosterone compounds, all associated with bodybuilding, anti-aging, athletic performance enhancement, and weight loss.

The products, discovered at Maxximus Supplements and Cutting Edge Nutrition, lack authorization from Health Canada and have not undergone safety, efficacy, and quality assessments.

Among the seized substances are Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators, which are not authorized for any use in Canada and have not been evaluated for safety. These androgen drugs pose significant health risks, including potential drug-induced liver damage, heart attacks, and strokes.

Additional seized items include a prescription drug for treating post-menopausal breast cancer, a veterinary drug for respiratory diseases in horses not approved for human use, and a prescription antihypertensive medication unauthorized for sale in Canada.

Health Canada advises individuals who may have these unauthorized products to refrain from using them and consult a healthcare professional if they have health concerns post-consumption.
