Newforma Unveils AI-Powered Tools and Open Ecosystem Strategy at Newforma World 2026

Newforma showcased a variety of innovations powered by artificial intelligence along with an expanded strategy for integrations at Newforma World 2026. The focus of this technology initiative is on enhancing workflow automation, fostering connected project delivery, and enabling flexible modernization specifically aimed at architecture, engineering, construction, and owner (AECO) firms.

As part of its latest roadmap, the company introduced new AI capabilities, integrated ecosystem options, and hybrid deployment formats designed to help project teams boost efficiency, minimize operational friction, and enhance project information management.

This announcement was made during the annual conference held in Clearwater, New Hampshire, where company executives underscored a “cloud-first, not cloud-forced” approach. This philosophy allows firms to modernize at their preferred pace while still supporting both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructures.

“Customers choose when and how they modernize. We decided not to be cloud-only, and that is intentional,” stated Carl Veillette, chief product officer at Newforma. “Everything we create must either lower risk, save time, or facilitate scaling.”

AI Assistant Designed for Project Workflows

A highlight of the announcements was the introduction of Vojo, Newforma’s new AI assistant built on an agent-driven framework. This assistant is designed to enhance project information access and automate routine tasks.

According to the company, Vojo features natural language search capabilities across project data, AI-based analysis for BIM models and documents, and AI-supported workflows for submittal reviews. The platform aims to integrate intelligence directly into daily project management activities.

One of the initial workflow tools linked to Vojo is Smart Email Filing, an AI-enabled capability that automatically associates emails with specific projects and suggests filing locations for RFIs, submittals, and action items. Newforma believes this tool will aid firms in maintaining comprehensive and defensible project records while decreasing manual administrative tasks.

The company further noted that its AI initiatives are backed by a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services, which supplies the robust infrastructure essential for Newforma’s advanced AI development.

“AI is only as powerful as the data it’s based on,” remarked Ben Schreiner, head of AI and modern data strategy business development at Amazon Web Services. “Newforma’s strategy merges secure, scalable AWS infrastructure with an agent-driven AI framework to enable AECO teams to uncover insights, reduce manual workloads, and make more confident decisions. We’re excited to collaborate with Newforma.”

Expanded Integrations Support Connected Ecosystem

In addition, Newforma announced several new integrations and partnerships aimed at fostering a more interconnected technology ecosystem for construction and design firms.

These updates include a new integration between Bluebeam and Newforma Konekt, a partnership with Egnyte, a Microsoft Teams integration focused on maintaining defensible communication records, and a new connector with OFCDESK for Autodesk Build workflows.

Company executives emphasized that this strategy aims to provide customers with greater flexibility while minimizing disruptions to existing project delivery methods.

Alongside the new integrations, Newforma revealed a simplified modular licensing structure that enables firms to align software purchases with specific user roles and operational requirements.

The organization also reiterated its commitment to hybrid modernization, continuing support for Newforma Project Center as part of its long-term project management and cloud transition strategies. Furthermore, they announced a new FedRAMP Moderate initiative and ongoing efforts to meet advanced compliance regulations.

“We’re creating a landscape where project information is more interconnected, where the tools teams depend on collaborate more efficiently, and where users can operate faster because they have clearer insights sooner, with less friction,” Veillette declared.

Established over 20 years ago, Newforma provides project and information management software tailored for the AECO industry, claiming to support over 20 million projects worldwide.
