UK Salmonella Supplement Recall Expanded After 45 US Cases

In a troubling development, a recall for a dietary supplement that has caused illness among numerous Americans has now expanded to include consumers in the United Kingdom.

The Super Greens powder, marketed as Live it Up by Superfoods Inc. based in New York, has been linked to 45 cases of Salmonella across the United States, with 12 individuals requiring hospitalization.

Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported related to this outbreak. The US Food and Drug Administration has stated that these illnesses occurred between late August and the end of December 2025.

The cases were reported in 21 different states, and the FDA is continuing its investigation, which could potentially uncover more affected products.

In most cases, individuals recover on their own within about a week, which is reassuring. However, certain groups should remain particularly vigilant as the infection can lead to more severe health issues.

Young children under five years old, adults over the age of 65, and individuals with compromised immune systems are at a higher risk for complications from Salmonella poisoning.

If you belong to one of these vulnerable groups and have consumed the recalled product, seeking medical advice promptly is essential.
