New Kosher Israeli “Middle Feast” Restaurant Opens in Teaneck

Teaneck’s West Englewood Avenue has become a beloved location for kosher meat dining, featuring popular spots like Chickie’s, Chopstix, and Dougie’s BBQ. Recently, a new establishment has joined the scene: Middle Feast, a contemporary Middle Eastern restaurant that promotes itself as “Shawarma+,” replacing the former Yalla Teaneck.

The Concept

Middle Feast aims to transcend the typical shawarma experience. The “Shawarma+” label reflects a menu rooted in traditional Middle Eastern cuisine but presented with a modern twist in both flavor and aesthetics. The restaurant’s polished visual branding, showcased prominently on their Instagram, indicates a thoughtful approach to their culinary vision.

This new venture is operated by the same owners as J Express (Jerusalem Express) in Englewood, a well-regarded kosher pizza place that has garnered a loyal customer base. If you’re familiar with J Express, you can expect a similar ethos at Middle Feast: sharp execution, solid branding, and a defined mission. The restaurant offers both dine-in and online ordering through its website for added convenience—perfect for enjoying a meal on-site or grabbing takeout.

What to Expect on the Menu

The soft opening menu is concise yet well-curated, which is just how it should be.

When it comes to shawarma, options include chicken, ribeye, and schnitzel, available in either pita or laffa, or served as a plate with fries as an optional add-on. For example, a ribeye shawarma in laffa costs $22, a reasonable price for Bergen County.

The plates feature pargiyot ($23), kabob ($25), falafel pita ($15), a grilled chicken Caesar salad ($18), and the Mr. Feast Burger, which also includes fries for $18. The sauces add character to the offerings, with options like tehina, amba, garlic mayo, spicy mayo, sweet chili, Finger Lick’n, and BBQ. This thoughtful selection showcases the creativity behind the menu.

The Location

Located on the West Englewood Ave strip, Middle Feast is just a stone’s throw away from other renowned Teaneck eateries, placing it right at the heart of one of Bergen County’s most accessible kosher dining areas. If you’re traveling from out of town for a kosher meal, this area is likely on your list.

Middle Feast can be found at 190 W Englewood Ave, Teaneck, NJ 07666, having opened its doors on March 19, 2026. You can conveniently order online at order.eatmiddlefeast.com.

The restaurant is certified kosher by the Rabbinical Council of Bergen County (RCBC).
