Jelly Roll has encountered a challenge in his remarkable weight loss journey, where he successfully shed an impressive 275 pounds over three years.
In a candid YouTube video, the 41-year-old artist shared that his diet has strayed since the 2025 holiday season.
“I kind of got off track when I broke my collarbone just days before Christmas,” he revealed. “This injury forced me to stop running, walking, and exercising for a significant time.”
“I mention this because I feel I’ve lost my direction,” Jelly Roll continued. “Currently, I’m about 40 to 60 pounds away from my goal weight. I haven’t weighed myself lately, as I’ve been hesitant to face what the scale might tell me.”
However, on April 10, he decided to confront his fears by stepping on the scale, as chronicled in his YouTube update. He revealed that he weighed 276.2 pounds, marking a 12-pound gain from his previous weight.
In his vlog, he discussed fresh aspirations, including training for the New York City Marathon set for November and aiming to lose another 40 to 50 pounds.
“Ultimately, I want to undergo skin removal surgery and appear on the cover of something noteworthy, like GQ or Rolling Stone, and do so confidently,” said the “Wild Ones” singer. “I know it sounds a bit unrealistic, but I genuinely believe a story exists within my journey—a transformation from 560 pounds to confidently posing without a shirt. It feels surreal.”
In a prior interview with Men’s Health, Jelly Roll first disclosed his significant weight loss of 275 pounds, detailing the initial steps he took towards this achievement. He sought therapy to address his “food addiction,” treating it similarly to substance addiction.
“Before I even had my blood work done, I sought mental health counseling for my overeating,” he told the publication. “I began treating my food habits as an addiction.”
By collaborating with advisors, including a medical team from Ways2Well and nutrition expert Ian Larios, he managed his weight loss through a diet rich in whole foods and regular physical activity.
Jelly Roll has provided multiple updates regarding his fitness journey over the last couple of years, noting his progress since dropping from 540 pounds to 357 pounds by April 2025. Previous milestones included a statement in October 2024, where he announced he had lost 100 pounds.
Conclusion:
Jelly Roll’s journey serves as a reminder that weight loss is often a nonlinear path filled with ups and downs. By sharing his experiences, he not only inspires others but also emphasizes the importance of seeking help and making lifestyle changes for better health. Remember, the journey is personal; embrace your own progress and keep setting new goals. Achieving fitness is not just about numbers but also about building a healthier and happier you.
