Happy Saturday, Friends! Today’s post is a simple recipe that’s sure to satisfy those unwelcome sugar cravings we all get once in a while.

  • 100% natural peanut butter
  • A handful of sliced almonds and chopped walnuts
  • 1 apple (I recommend organic Granny Smith apples)
  • Dark chocolate (or dark chocolate chips)
  • A handful of goji berries

Start by washing your apple thoroughly, then slice it into thick pieces. You can core the apple beforehand, or simply remove the core from each slice by cutting out a small triangle. Generously spread peanut butter on each slice, then top it with the nut and berry mixture. Finish with a sprinkling of chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chips—I prefer soy and dairy-free dark chocolate with hazelnut and currant (delicious!).

This delightful snack combines the crispness of a Granny Smith apple with the crunch of nuts, the creaminess of peanut butter, a hint of bitterness from the dark chocolate, and a touch of sweetness from the goji berries, which are rich in antioxidants. It’s a far better alternative to a candy bar! Plus, it takes just a few minutes to prepare and is absolutely delicious, making it a guilt-free treat.

This little indulgence reminds me of the snacks my grandpa used to make for my sister and me when we were kids. My grandparents have (and still do!) a huge garden filled with the most scrumptious apples I’ve ever tasted. Those long summers were spent enjoying fresh apples paired with nuts and grapes right off the vine. Sometimes, I really miss those carefree days of childhood 🙂 .
