In the United States, it’s estimated that around 30% of all food produced is discarded—much of it still perfectly edible. This not only contributes to significant food waste but also strains the wallet and has adverse effects on the environment. One of the major culprits behind this waste is the misunderstanding surrounding food labeling dates. In reality, most food items remain safe for consumption well past these dates.
