Once the nice weather hits, Midwesterners just can’t resist getting outdoors. Outdoor markets are a staple here, and we embrace any excuse to sport a cute outfit while sipping coffee and exploring local vendors!
Whenever I travel, my favorite activity is finding outdoor markets and immersing myself in the stalls. Some of my best memories are from iconic spots like the flea market in Paris and Camden Market in London. There’s nothing better than indulging in local treats and collecting unique souvenirs.
What To Wear To An Outdoor Market: Six Fun Looks For Summer
From farmers’ markets to flea markets, there’s no shortage of options to enjoy in the spring and summer. Here are six fun outfits I’d wear this vendor season, inspired by my travels and favorite markets. Expect adorable tote bags and stylish finds from Free People and Farm Rio.
Outfit 1: Fulton Street Farmer’s Market
This is my go-to look for the Fulton Street Market in Grand Rapids, Michigan, especially as Main and Second Seasons kick off.

NOTES: Comfort is key, so I opted for Agolde Parker shorts paired with a stylish embroidered tee from Abercrombie. Plus, I adore this eco-friendly market bag made from recycled materials and just picked up some reusable bags for my fresh produce!
Outfit 2: Coquina’s Beachside Market
While I haven’t visited Coquina’s market yet, I stopped by an incredible outdoor market in Mexico with my mom and want to look fabulous while doing so!
NOTES: I love lace-up espadrilles, like these chic Rothy’s! And bucket hats are back in style; I adore this denim version from Nordstrom.
Outfit 3: Paris’ Outdoor Flea Market
During my visits to Paris, I always have the best time wandering through their outdoor flea market.

Camden Market is bustling with energy; it’s a true feast for the senses!

NOTES: A stylish denim romper paired with classic sneakers is perfect for maneuvering through the busy market and blending in with the fashion-forward crowd.
Outfit 5: Seattle’s Pike’s Place Market
It’s been a while since I’ve visited Pike’s Place Market, where the atmosphere is always lively, complete with the scent of fresh fish!

NOTES: I love the Pollie Swing Tunic Mini Dress from Anthropologie, a true wardrobe staple. And these espadrille-flats by Sam Edelman and Rag & Bone combine comfort with style perfectly!
Outfit 6: The Mitten Vintage Flea Market
The Mitten Vintage Flea Market is a personal favorite of mine, where I love to wear vintage or vintage-inspired outfits.
