As NutraIngredients marks its 25th anniversary this year, it’s exciting to observe that submissions for the awards have surged by 25% compared to last year. Particularly noteworthy is the remarkable twenty-fold increase in entries within the Start-Up category.
The newly launched Healthspan category has also gained traction, drawing a combined total of 36 submissions in both the ingredient and product segments.
A distinguished judging panel of 28 industry professionals undertook the responsibility of shortlisting finalists. The winners will be revealed during a special awards event in Barcelona on Wednesday, May 6th, 2026.
“2026 has undoubtedly been a year of groundbreaking advancements — from patents to innovative technologies and scientific discoveries grounded in robust clinical evidence,” remarked Ewa Hudson, director of insights at Lumina Intelligence and chair of the judging panel for the NutraIngredients Europe Awards. “We have seen the introduction of new nutritional solutions tailored to meet consumer health demands, encompassing a wide range including mental wellness, microbiome research, and various aspects of women’s health. These innovations promise enhanced efficacy and offer cost-effective, scalable solutions.
“The judging panel was particularly struck by the solid scientific basis of the presented research, the transformative potential of the innovations, and their demonstrated commercial viability. Ultimately, we were inspired by the potential these advancements have to enable consumers to lead healthier lives as the nutraceutical industry continues to evolve,” added Hudson.
