In December 2025, Crunch Fitness submitted a building project proposal to the city of Springfield, which is currently under review. The plans detail significant renovations to the property at 3303 S. Campbell Ave., which formerly housed Gordmans and RadioShack, situated next to Walmart Supercenter. The building permit was officially submitted on March 4, 2026.
The renovation aims to create a state-of-the-art fitness environment. Proposed updates will include locker rooms, restrooms, showers, and specialized equipment such as HydroMassage beds and tanning booths. Additionally, essential upgrades to the electrical and plumbing systems will be conducted as part of the renovation.
Crunch Fitness plans to occupy just over 43,000 square feet of the structure while demolishing the western portion of the building. New facades will be installed on both the east and west sides to refresh the facility’s appearance.
