Dive Insight:

Perplexity is strategically designing its latest products to facilitate orchestration across various systems, AI models, and tools, providing a competitive edge in the rapidly evolving enterprise AI landscape.

Global investment in AI is projected to hit $2.5 trillion by 2026— a year-over-year increase of 44%, according to Gartner, a management consulting firm. However, organizations face challenges with data silos and the scalability of their current products, which impede their AI initiatives as noted by data analytics company Ocient

Following the introduction of Perplexity Computer, the company stated in a blog post that “orchestration across models and families is the key to developing a system versatile enough to manage real-world tasks.”

“For deep research that informs decision-making, you need a model optimized for accuracy and retrieval,” Perplexity indicated in the post. “When programming is required, a model trained on billions of lines of production code is essential.”

Computer for Enterprise utilizes app connectors to access data from Snowflake, Salesforce and numerous other platforms, according to Perplexity.

“This allows a financial analyst to request revenue data by sector from Snowflake, while a sales team can simultaneously access CRM data and competitive insights,” remarked Perplexity. “Computer generates the queries, executes them, and delivers structured results.”

Perplexity has also launched Personal Computer, which will operate on a dedicated Mac mini, aimed at simplifying cross-system automation for enterprise users.

“Personal Computer acts as a digital proxy, continually working on your behalf and allowing you to orchestrate all your tools, tasks, and files from any device, anywhere,” stated Perplexity.

As Perplexity emerges in the AI-driven search sector, Google has enhanced its own search offerings with AI features, including AI overviews and an AI mode to improve search outcomes. The tech giant also offers Vertex AI Search for enterprises, providing optimized search results across applications and content.

OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, in February released Frontier, its own enterprise offering designed for agentic AI that links disparate data warehouses, CRM systems, ticketing tools, and internal applications” to enable AI agents to provide business context for delivering swift and consistent responses. Last year, the company introduced Atlas, integrating ChatGPT within its own browser platform.
